Yeah, I worship Dionysius, the Greek god of wine, with communion held every night at 6pm at my house. All welcome.

It's a sacrifice you have to pay for infrequent worship.

I have 12 drinks only per night, and don't get hangovers, though I admit I'm a bit slow in the mornings till I've had a few coffees.

Unfortunately, I don't believe in religious "crap" but I do, however, believe something has happened and that there is a God in the sky. Not only is there no smoke without fire, but it'd take one hell of a hoax to keep people hauled in for the best part of 2000 years. And that's only Christianity.

Unfortunatley, that's still less than half :(

And there is the problem. Look at the discussions we have in Religion and Philosophy. Look to newgroups and go into alt.atheism

Read past arguments of years gone by over theology. Religion cannot be proved, for proof denies faith. People who don't need proof to believe other people would be called gulible in any other circumstance can say anything they like knowing that there is no proof, which is what the other camp wants before they will believe anything.
Religion has been debated for hundreds if not thousands of years in 1 form or another and still we are no way nearer.
I believe religion a hoax because even now we have no proof, and we probably never will have - hence why there will be religion for another 2000 years.

I guess it's a case of i'll go my way and you can go Yahweh ;) (see what I did there ?)

After understanding a tad of what you wrote, I'd like to reply (pwetty pweas):

We do have proof. Most historians believe there was a man called Jesus on this Earth, who made miracles. What they (and scientists) argue, is the authenticity of religion. For example the bible claims Jesus wasn't married (or something), but Mary Magdelene is a key historical figure.

Put simply, Jesus lived, Jesus did do acts that were advanced for his generation. It just depends on how you wish to class his life/acts.

Lolz, that's one of the things that annoys me about me, I go off at a tangent, or I have my own thoughts ideas etc, but it all tends to come out as a mish mash or some sort of rant, or if I get excited etc - which unfortunatley puts people off :(

I don't disagree with you here, even I say that there probably was a man called Jesus, going round helping the poor/sick/needy etc. But walking on water, turning water into wine etc?

Ahhh, feels good to debate with someone educated on this site and that person not being aalpha (not that there's anything wrong with aalpha... oh darn.) :D

Anywho, well you know we cannot prove the wine and water thing, so that is what falls under religious "crap", but we can prove that a man called Jesus walked the Earth and was a rather nice chap. So yup. This hath officially been discussed and sorted by two people on a forum. Now we just gotta tell the pope and other important people :P

I think we find it all hard to belive because it was another time and place. We werent there, but the people who wrote the holy bible were old and had jsut exspereanced all of what happened!!
