I've said just about everything I know to say about the first humans, vampire Jesus etc. We can all believe what we choose to believe and so I think I shall.

I'm not trying to say everything in the bible is literal. Only that some of the texts can be interpretted in cirtain ways.

I did say I was inclined not to believe the bible, but that is because it does not fit in with my own beliefs. I believe that as a historical record it is reasonable, and as a moral guide it can be quite useful.

Vampire legends generally stem from the 1600s+. There are older stories which could be attributed to vampires, but don't bear the name. Post C17th vampires took off along with witches and werewolves. Everyone seemed to know someone, who knew someone, who was one or the other! It could just be that vampires were very secretive prior to C17th, or maybe they experienced their genesis at this time. Personally I got the idea that Jesus could be a vampire while reading the bible, long before I knew of vampire statistics.

Thanks for the Wikipedia hint, didn't know it even existed, seems cool!

And finally, yes, everybody should believe what they want to believe!

Ratty,
If you can see it all without scrolling it's short. Wink

You're welcome. I am beginning to learn to go to Wikipedia first then Google. If Wikipedia has what I'm looking for it takes the work out of Googling.

I agree on sharing ideas. There's the whole rest of the forum to play in. Why don't we gang up on somebody. Make'em break out in zits. Just kidding of course. Can't suggest that in public etc. etc. Should have used a pm. Rolling Eyes

.... seeing as I'm writing this when I'm pissed off, what the hell.

I never slagged anyone off, all I said was no more long posts, which you know I have no control over, and therefore was probably was only joking over. If no-one can take a joke then we might as well piss off, all of us.

Not much any more. Why don't I tell a church story? OK sure.
When I was 3 my grandpa died. The adults in trying to deal with a 3 year old told me grandpa was going to be with Jesus. Well, I already knew the building we call church was the house of the Lord. When they closed that coffin lid and put my granddaddy in a hole in the ground I said "I will have none of this" ( I didn't know any cuss words or I would have surely used'em). Jesus can stay in his yard and I will stay in mine. For the next 3 solid years my parents had to drag me kicking and screaming to church every single Sunday.

fwiw I never once bought the Santa Claus conspiracy. Never thought it was possible. It took too long to get to grandpa's for that man to cover the whole earth in one night. They lied about grandpa they must be lying about Santa.

I go to church, I went today. Only to study the bible and to get to know both sides of Religon and evolvution. I do it so I can have the knowledge of both theories so when in an arguement over the two I can understand both of them.

I may dissagree with some parts of the bible and church and I agree with some values that they have. But I do not agree that there is a god.

thats probably the only bit wrong with tha post. freedom of believe and worship is a luxury in the western world and every1 is entitled to their own opinions. i myself do not believe in god simply because i dont like to feel that some1 else is controlling my life. that is my opinion, not a statement that god doesnt exist.

get my point?
