OK, imagine that the end of the world is near (any reason, name your disaster) but the clever scientists have built a spaceship so that a small number of lucky people can live by escaping the earth.
So then, say only 10,000 people can fit on this spaceship (it's a big un!) and there are 6 billion people on the planet, how are the lucky people picked to journey on the spaceship? The best and brightest? A lottery? People who can pay there way in? (after all, building a spaceshp isn't cheap!)

I say it doesnt matter because when it comes down to it there will be a frenzy of people built up and whoever makes it first gets on. Willing to bet the intended people wont make it with the whole world on their butts

Was a good film that, having run out of ideas though Hollywood are remaking it.
I'd prefer something new, rather than a rehash.

You can kid yourself all you want on who will be the people to go to the space station .They will be on the space station way before you will know that the world is coming to an end . What do you think , that the people in charge are going to announce it on public television. You are dreaming my friend . I would bet my life on it that the people that are chosen all ready know . You can bet it is not going to be you or me. |

I've often wondered if you owned ( secretly of course ) a spaceship which you parked in Earth orbit not forgetting to switch the cloaking device on, and some world wide threat manifests itself, you run to your space ship taking various friends and families with you.
How would you get sustenance?
You'd need to return to Earth in some way to 'restock' surely ?
