Considering this happened a thousand years ago, but it was recently discovered and interpreted. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/dorset/8563377.stm
51 decapitated skeletons found near Weymouth are now thought to be Vikings. Just thought I would post this, because how often can I post something to do with my degree as 'current' events?

I saw the same news article, I thought of you when I saw it

They (Saxons) managed to round up 51 of them and carry out a mass execution :S
Kinda ruins the romanticised version I had in my head of a load of unstoppable huge men with big f*ck off swords and helmets with horns ( I know that wasn't practical or real but still I like to imagine )
I mean, they're not really unstoppable when they get rounded up and decapitated 
But then look what they were doing to us! - bloody foreigners. I mean, didn't they have a nice girl back home ? - what would she of said?
I did wonder for a second when I read this paragraph :-
