This week, my boyfriend called me at work as he had locked himself out of the house. He had gone into the back garden and the door had shut behind him, with one of those 'shut me to and I'll lock' locks, it locked him outside in February with just a t-shirt on.
Me being me, I couldn't be arsesd to go home from work to let him in. I told him to go to my parents neighbours house, get my parents spare key, get into parents house, hunt around for the spare key to ours and thus let himself in again!
I got brownie points for remembering to give a spare key to my parents:P
So have you ever locked yourself out of your house? What did you do? _________________ Helen, the Administratrix of www.area51newmexico.com

I once had a VW golf with a car alarm that auto-locked the doors after 60 seconds of turning the ignition off...
Managed to once leave the keys on the seat but luckily I had left the sunroof open too and climbed back in!! |

I was used to locking the bottom lock and left my keys in the house once. I tried for an hour to get one of the windows undone with no success. I ended up taking a shovel and using it to pry the sliding glass door off the track. Wish I woulda thought of that first because it took all of 2 seconds lol _________________ Keyboard not connected, press F1 to continue. |

I've never locked myself out the house but I have my car but thankfully the window was open just enough to feed a coathanger through on a piece of string to pick the keys up _________________ Some people are like Slinkies .....Not really good for anything but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I really hate to tell on myself since this came up eons ago and I went to great lengths to post a pic of my backup keys that are either in my hand or on my belt loop.
This past Saturday my backup keys were in my coat pocket blah, blah, blah.
I belong to triple-A or AAA American Automobile Association so I called them and my car was unlocked in about 15 minutes.
But that's the first time I've locked my self out of home or car in I don't know when. _________________
