Would you ever go and see a band/music by yourself?
An artist that I like is going to be at Rock city in Nottingham in March, however I cannot find anyone to go with me! My boyfriend is working that night and isn't keen on the music anyway!
So shall I be brave and go by myself?
edit - I've managed to rope in Minty to come with me:) Question still stands though:) _________________ Helen, the Administratrix of www.area51newmexico.com

I used to hate the idea of going to a gig by myself, but my taste in music is very different from that of most of my friends, so if I want to go see a band I like, the chances are nobody else will want to come with me. I used to let that stop me from going, but recently I have not let it stop me. I ask around in case anyone else wants to come, but even if not I will still go. Sometimes you find that you can drag someone else along on the night - it has happened to me that I thought I was going alone but I mentioned the gig to a friend the week before and she said she would come along.
Having said that, those gigs have all been in the same city I live in so getting there and back alone isn't an issue. I would probably feel different if I had to travel further. _________________ ~~~I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minuite of it!~~~

I'm on the verge of buying an iPhone. If we both had an iPhone 4 or 4s I could go with you. Sort of. But darn close to actually being there just the same. _________________

i wouldn't know how it is going by myself because ive always gone with someone, but if it was someone i really liked i think i would go just to be there. whether i enjoy myself or not?? wont know till it happens, but i suppose it would just be level of enjoyment compared to if anyone went with _________________ Keyboard not connected, press F1 to continue. |

Absolutely I would and have gone to gigs myself. The planning is easier and you can meet and chat to people when you get there. Besides once the music kicks off you don't really talk to anyone anyway.
I would always prefer someone to go with, but I think you would regret not seeing the band you love because there was noone to go with. _________________

^ Agreed, don't need to go with anyone. Plus if you do go with someone and they're not as into it as you are it can be a buzz kill. I've gone to a show by myself and it was great. Turned out that a bunch of people I knew were there so after the first half hour I was with people I knew anyways. Small world. _________________ Yuh, Jarmen's back. |
