I've just ordered my first ever 'fancy phone' (Android smart phone as everyone else calls them!)
The main thing I'm looking forward to is the apps. Got a few ideas of which ones I'm planning to get e.g. lovefilm, flightchecker, imdb, bbcnews, a translator for my hols
What apps can't you live without? _________________ Helen, the Administratrix of www.area51newmexico.com

shazam. ID's music if you can capture a "clean" sample long enough for it to match the database. By clean I mean not much "other" noise.
An app that will let you see Lottery results clean and fast
word, medical, and any other specialized field of study dictionaries. Like Law, astronomy etc.
My iPod isn't handy but I'll add more later or send you an email.
You're going to luuuvv your Android.
OH! I've got one that I think is titled "Converter." It converts EVERYTHING - every unit of measure you can think of. Here's a link to the Apple version.
This app is hard to appreciate from screenshots. With Apple it's free with the ad-free version costing .99¢
It is truly SUPER

I am assuming the apps I mention have brothers and sisters that work on other smart phones.
Apple may be able to restrict apple developers not to develop for other phones but other developers can. If I were a developer I'd try and have a separate "company" for each phone and tell them all to go fish. But pay me first. _________________

This is my first post on my shiney new phone! Yay !
Thanks for the converter suggestion. It will be useful at work when people request jobs in inches and I have to convert to proper units like millimetres! _________________ Helen, the Administratrix of www.area51newmexico.com
