Downloading Music

I downlaod so called illegally but i think its bullshit because what am i to buy maybe a computer tech would correct me but isnt all computer stuff go down in to binary you know the 1's and 0's well basically im buying numbers.

No you're not buying numbers. If you are downloading music you are downloading music. It has a copyright etc etc etc. you know the drill. Check out http://allofmp3.com/
It's dirt cheap and legal and high quality. Don't ask me how they get to the Suzy Q's and John Doe's all over fly over country but every so often I read where several hundred at the time are hauled into court and get hit (Mom & Dad usually) with huge fines for stealing. If you don't live in the USA you probably don't have anything to worry about. Does anyone know of any cases outside the US?

From the lil i know about binary doesnt that make up everything such as .mp3's and i figure at this point the odds of being sued is so low im willing to take the chance.

The odds are no doubt in your favor but music files are not binary files. Electronic data may ultimately be converted to 1s and 0s but to suggest that is all they amount to goes too far. There is a thing called over simplifying. Graphics are graphics, text is text, music is music.

I do legal downloads from www.allofmp3.com because it's much simipler to use than other illegal copying programs where you basically get a copy from another persons computer. If they go offline half way through a download- you are screwed! On legal sites all the albums tracks are there and ready to download quickly and at a good quality too.

I guess im just cheap but it would add up quickly cuz i format every once in a while so i would need the songs back and lots of times i dont even know if i like the song im downloading i just download songs by a group i usually ived downloaded 20 songs in one night and like bout 3 thats a waste of money if i paid.

Allofmp3 has free previews of 90 seconds. Once you spend $50.00 US dollars or equivalent you can preview entire cds - FREE then check what you want and download it. If the download gets interrupted I've been able to resume later without paying twice.

A game = U$D 30 (And you cant find them anywhere)
Lets say U$D 210

A CD audio = U$D 10
Like popcorn Laughing

... U$D 300

And my monthly salary is around U$D 80.
(I only work a couple of hours: stress is killing me, but slowly Razz

)

U$D 150 + U$D 210 + U$D 300 = U$D 660... Get the picture? Razz

Vote I Don't Download (even thought I do)

Little trick for everyone...

Go to Windows Media Player 10.

Go to 'Guide'

Search your song (usually only finds popular results)

Click 'Play' at the slowest bitrate

Once it's playing, right-click in the bit at the bottom that says the album, artist etc...

'File > Save As' Very Happy

Free download. (Note: Some songs will be copyright protected and this WON'T work)

Also: Right-Click 'Save Target As' is also your best friend.

Something else, get your totally computer-illiterate mate to download limewire, then send you the songs over msn.
