Hope someone can help with this...
i have a BIOS that im locked out of because i got a BIOS update from acer and a password magically appeared. dont have a need for the BIOS normally, but I locked myself out of my windows and i have a recovery program for it, but cant boot from CD unless i set it in the BIOS. Cant get in the BIOS though. its a laptop so its not as easy as resetting a jumper or removing and replacing the battery. Any help would be greatly appreciated; I'm stuck in a room with no doors or windows and am bouncing myself insane.
its an odd bios and the manufacturer wants to charge a hundred bux to fix it, but offer no other soultion. its an InsydeH20 BIOS
no backdoor or defaults found
Thanks in advance..ccokies for anyone that can provide the solution _________________ Keyboard not connected, press F1 to continue. |

Should I assume you knew about the Admin user profile in safe mode? That would give you access to *your* user profile and thus enable you to delete, reset etc., your password.
I did a search for your BIOS "InsydeH20 BIOS" and got this -

Scroll down this page, it looks like somebody posted a step by step for a Toshiba laptop. But I'd try the safe mode Admin route first. _________________

I'm quoting you so you can't change what you said this time.
I found this through a quick google

Also, a few people seemed to have success here

Won't defeat a BIOS password though. Or have I misread the post _________________ “Home Taping Is Killing Music” — A 1980s campaign by the BPI, claiming that people recording music off the radio onto cassette would destroy the music industry. |

It won't defeat the BIOS password but if he locked himself out of the laptop he can remove the bugger user password and not have to access the BIOS. _________________

While that may solve the initial issue, I saw the 'other' problem coming back to bite me later in the future, so decided that would be a better problem to fix and throw my resources into that _________________ “Home Taping Is Killing Music” — A 1980s campaign by the BPI, claiming that people recording music off the radio onto cassette would destroy the music industry. |

lol minty i didnt change anything i said but typos last time. i figured it out. after i was done with useless research i thought of something that worked b4. i jumped the onboard circuits with a screwdriver to fix the BIOS issue. the i was good to go with the cd boot and reset the windows password.
thanks again for all the help guys _________________ Keyboard not connected, press F1 to continue. |
