There are 6.8 billion people living on earth at the moment. I was reading an article in the paper about how the world is overpopulated and this is causing all sorts of problems - food & resource shortage, high carbon footprint etc.
So I guess there are a few questions here. Is the world overpopulated? If so, is this necessarily a bad thing?
And how can we prevent the population increasing further or even reduce numbers? Go on, be as un PC as you like:) _________________ Helen, the Administratrix of www.area51newmexico.com

Well, as you now know thanks to my cutting edge posts on the environment carbon footprints are now exposed as fraudulent fear tactics so the only question is - "Is there enough resources to support the number of people?"
I don't know. We certainly have enough fossil fuel to till the ground, harvest the crops, process the meats, seafood and poultry and ship it all to the markets around the world so if lying scientists with political agendas get out of the way we should be good to go. _________________

If the population keeps growing at the rate it is then we should be investing money in GM foods, for example we won't have enough cereal produce to satisfy the needs of the world in years to come. But GM is bad.
No food? Over population? GM food? Hmmmm. _________________
