Hey all

I have been spending a couple of days baking Chocolate Chip Cookies Very Happy which have come out really well (but to be honest Cookies are not that hard to bake...hehe).

I am just wondering if any of you guys likes baking & what you love or would love to try & make?

My next project will be some sort of cake...not decided what type yet though Smile

Helen once sent me pictures of some cakes she had baked herself on her phone.
As at the time I had a crappy Nokia 7250i phone the pictures were never clear on it, however now i've got something slightly better I can actually see pictures sent to me now.

I like making fairy cakes, with chocolate, lemon or anything else that appeals to me at the time.

Though if i'm making them at a friends house, it's usually me who then gets asked to ice them as she doesn't have the patience to do it and always ends up getting it wrong.

I appear to of found my calling in life Very Happy

I could make a bigger version of fairy cakes, or a big chocolate cake and discover how they get that cream in the middle.

Another one is that chequerboard type effect you get in uhh... forgotten it's name... but it's got like a chequered appearance inside it.

I've wondered if it's anything to do with pi, but then decided it was more to do with cake...

Sorry Laughing

Garlic Bread!! Yummm....thats about the only thing I throw in the oven (with the exception of the occasional thanksgiving turkey, of course).

I'm with Specter; not much into the sweets, but I love to cook meals. I just made the Awesomest chili on Superbowl Sunday Razz

The only reason I don't try my hand at stuff like fudge brownies and chocolate chips is I'm diabetic.

Me Mum makes a plain old sugar cookie and doesn't cook them all the way done.

Not sure at which point she takes them out of the oven but you can't look at them and tell they aren't 100% done, but they stay soft and never get hard crunchy. Try that with your Choco chips. I'm guessing but if they take 12 minutes cook for 8 or 10, maybe 9.

If you under cook too much you can put them back in for a minute or 2.

What about using fake sugar? (by fake sugar I mean the sugar-free sugar stuff)

I am the opposite, I prefer baking sweets then cooking meals.

It does OK, some artificial sweetener cooks away so you may as well leave it out from the start. Splenda doesn't so if any of you chefs care to go that route, use Splenda. Very Happy

Some people tried that back in the late 60's thru the mid 70's. It didn't work. Razz

One of my friends and I love making brownies and we have done this a few times now. We always base them on this recipe http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1223/bestever-brownies but we have begun to experiment a bit by adding different chocolate pieces (now adding Aero Bubbles once, and Aero Bubbles, M&Ms and Marshmallows another time. They always come out well Smile
