how does the A/C and vents work?
tearing into the vents today and will post up pics of the issue and operation of the defrost circut. Mine has not worked since I bought it, and while I am tearing into the dash to put in the glovebox I want to fix it first. The problem statement is the defrost does not get all the air like it should to blow out of the top vents, most of it goes to the floor or out the vents in the dash. I did find a broken clip on the vent door and got it "repaired" now.

ok here are the pics and stuff
was gonna replace this by robbing it from the Blazer, but it was broken in there too!

and the video after my butt ugly repair!

and I went back and at least painted it

always seem to have 5 or 6 things going at one and never can put it back together..............so I started number 7 today! Figured while I got the air ducts out I shouls get the new insulation put in behind the dash, I didn't get much done just the far left side top. This quick roof stuff sticks to everything real good!!

here is the before

and the after

got to take it all the way across, but not all the way down, the factory stuff seems to still be in really good shape, not to mention I would have to remove the heater core to do it right, and I dont want to mess with that unless I have too!

This is a lot more of a project than I thought it would be!

little more progress today!

and yeah I could not resist, didn't want to leave it halfass and just had to pull the heater core assembly out to do behind it.

running out of light and the Kids need to eat, so the rest might get done tomorrow!

OH MY GOD!! took 5 hours today but got it done, or at least got the firewalll done!

and while I was at it I painted the kick panels the same metalic charcoal color. I like how they turned out and think the color will work perfect with my carpet, which you can see the sample on the drivers side.

this was such a pain to do and I was actually sick of it after about 3 hours today, not sure how I will manage to do the rest of the inside! it took one whole 6"x25' roll and part of a second roll just to do what you see here! I think I will need another 10-15 rolls to complete the project, the inside of a suburban is huge, lots of floor, even more roof, and all the sides!! Oh what did I get myself into.......

so yeah not much has been done sice the last post. I have started working on the swapping out the lift from the blazerto the suburban.

I sold the wheels and tires off the blazer and the 52" rear lift springs which left it like this!

then I got some stock springs

and new tires

I got the back done so now it looks like this

started taking the front springs out, only got one so far

and here is subzilla going under the knife

more to come soon!!

All geared up to put in the springs.

Ok so here we go.

Old springs

No springs but lots of dirt and nasty.

And this has to come off

So does this one

But first the lift springs go in..........

Slowly making progress

This is hard work and it is close to 100 outside today.

Little more

Full droop

Almost there.

ok front springs are in, still need to do the steering arm and brake lines and I am sure I will find something else to prolong the effort. Anyway here it is the fron sitting on 6" tuff country ez-rides and 33"s the rear is still on stock springs.

looks crazy but makes me feel better knowing I did that with broke ass crappy tools.

I usually dont post dirt pics but I know you want them now! So here are the dirty springs installed, I rinsed out the fender wells and mud and dirt everywhere.

The driveshaft angle is good, I put in some 2.5 degree shims since I plan to take the spacers out of the T-case and put it back to stock.

The shaft also pulled out a lot and need to be about 3" longer, or I might just machine the output shaft so I can bolt a fixed yoke on and then go in-line slip.....

and now the lifted Suburban!! I put in the chair for referance.

Maybe tires next week, that will add another 2" of height!!

Anybody remember this project? I did and have stuff with me to work on!

So got a lot of sanding done and a fresh coat of primer today, and it looks like I still have a lot to do.

And a fee with the gauges I do have, oh gonna be so hard to not order the rest......don't know if I can resist until after I close on the house but sure gotta try, might need the last.$600 for some fees or junk?

So maybe later in the week I might have it ready for paint.

ok so I had to sell the Blazer since I could not bring it with me to Mississippi, then next step how to get Subzilla 1300 miles down the road when it cant be driven?

It is too big to go on transport, and Uhaul auto carriers are too small, so I rented a deck over trailer and just hauled it myself. Here are a few pics of the loading of the Blazer to take it my friends house, and of Subzilla getting ready to haul.

and a little Video action of me driving it up on the trailer. The carb is not adjusted correctly at all so had to feather the throttle to keep it running, and not go to fast at the same time.

http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/warwgn/VIDEO0003.mp4

and a few shots while I was on the road.

My 2009 GMC just humming down the road with about 10k Lbs behind it.

View out the front of the road just after the above pic.

And the awesome veiw in the mirror the whole trip.

Wound up being 2872.5 miles round trip, glad it is done.

Feel much better it is on the ground in it's new parking spot safe and sound. Next step unload all the junk out of it and get the carb sent out to Jet performance to be reworked for the new engine specs and sea level altitude.

I remember this!

Loved the numerous cut outs in the dash for 1001 dials. I'd find it a hazard though as i'd want to be looking at the dials and not the road!

Loved this project so far Very Happy
