Not had a poll in a while, so I thought we could have one that everyone must have an opinion on.
Your favourite eye colour.
Mine is brown and hazel.
Smoldering!
As I am blue eyed, blue is my least favourite colour.
Another 'poke in the eye' I guess for the Davenport gene model ?
Sorry...

My wifes' eyes are blue with flecks of green in them, which I find very beautiful.

I think all eye colours can be beautiful. Brilliant green can look very startling and exotic. Blue can look really sexy too.
I have brown eyes and fine them pretty boring.
Has anyone every wondered if people with different coloured eyes see the world differently? _________________ Helen, the Administratrix of www.area51newmexico.com

I have actually. I have always wondered if people with darker eyes can tolerate brighter light better.
People with blue eyes have no melanin in their eyes ( or something like that ) and as it's that which turns skin darker, and people with darker skin seem to be more accustomed to hotter climates I wonder if their eyes are better at handling brighter light.
As a tangent of your question ( you should know how my mind works )
We have someone who works for us who is red/green colourblind.
They said that they know what 'red' and 'green' is because they have been shown it. But they see red and green as shades of grey ( I think they said )
So yes, I could hold up something green in front of them and ask them what colour it was and they would say green.
But that's like me holding something up to you that was black, and asking you what colour it was, you saying 'black' and me telling you that no, it was blue actually.
Red,green,blue,pink,purple,magenta,black... They are all words we've attached to certain things and the only thing that has maintained this is that this 'colour assignment' has been passed down through various generations.
Internally however, how they see green is different from how you and I would see green however.
They have said that they find it very hard to explain to people with 'normal' eyesight how they see red/green. They fail to grasp the whole concept.
So yes, I have wondered how other people see the world.
I did want to go find that 'de-motivator' picture which was a red/green colour blindness test.
It had a caption like 'we are all the same people' or something, but in faded red/green dots was spelt the words 'people with inferior eyes are inferior' - I wanted to know if that really worked in that they ( colour blind person at work ) couldnt see the 'hidden' message or not. I couldn't find the picture though, so I don't know if it would of worked _________________ I should update my sig. What to put here for $CurrentYear ? |
