So i'm reading MSN's article on gadgets that will go extinct.

http://tech.uk.msn.com/features/photos.aspx?cp-documentid=153432833&page=1

And on page 6, they say the humble alarm clock will go completely from our lives in around 7 years.

Their reasoning for this is that we all have a mobile phone, all mobile phones have *alarm clocks* in them, so we will all use them instead.

I haven't used a ringing alarm clock since I was about 18 - i've used a radio alarm clock as I find actually listening to the radio to be a better way of waking up than an alarm going off ( whether that be ringing or music like on a mobile phone )

So, out of curiosity I ask what do you use to wake you up in the morning?

Do you use your mobile phone, or do you have a radio alarm clock? - do you have an 'old faithful' alarm clock that just rings ?

Do you believe a lot of what they say in the article listed above ?

Will certain types of tech go for good or will they still be about ?

I have a radio alarm clock too, but I still use the ringing alarm. I use it as my bedside clock too, as it has a digital display and I cannot sleep with an analogue clock in the room.

Some of the things in the article were not surprising (who still uses dial-up internet?) but other things I found more surprising (not sure I like the sound of not needing keys anymore, I am sure there would be kinks in the new systems to work out (isn't there an iphone app which will unlock your car - surely that is open to abuse?). Same with no more cash (I willingly acknowledge that I am slow to accept online banking and the like)

Lol, that artictle was a trip down memory lane!

In answer to your question, nope I just use my mobile phone to wake me up. It's great until the battery runs out!
