Hello all,
Figured I'd stop here before the rest of the interwebs to hopefully get some straight forward advice.
I have a cold, I've had it for 3 days now. different stages so i hope the rest of it comes out and is done soon.
So most recent symptoms:
1. Head hurts (its best when i dont have anything on it, but it still hurts for a good 5-10 minutes when i sneeze or cough, etc. Im trying to keep things off my head because it's unbearable, but im at work and i have to wear one to take calls, so im just putting it on when a call comes in. Thank God its a slow day)
2. Runny nose (finally, but it won't stop running and i cant seem to catch it in my current condition; bit of a catch 22 if you ask me)
3. Fever (not confirmed but it feels like i got one coming and going. when it feels like its here my whole body aches, my body is lazy and not too on point when doing things like walking. also, my breath and face get little to really hot when i dont have it, it doesnt feel like that for the most part.)
4. Coughing (finally loose, but still congested and yucky)
I dont do much medication, but ill consider it if something else doesnt come up. I've tried tea, sleeping, and thats about it.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance all! _________________ Keyboard not connected, press F1 to continue. |

sounds viral so not much you can do other than wait it out...
...but some studies have shown that high-dose (7g/day) vitamin C can *slightly* reduce the length of a cold (like by a few hours on average) - still worth a go though |

Yeh it does sound like a virus so there is nothing really you can take but the old saying is that you should feed a cold...so I would suggest plenty of warm dinners such as cassoroles...also I find lempsip helps as well. _________________ Some people are like Slinkies .....Not really good for anything but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Hot honey and lemon words well for me - hot water, lemon juice and honey (for extra healing power you can add whisky). Other than that, plenty of oranges, orange juice and anything else containing Vitamin C, like blackcurrants etc _________________ ~~~I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minuite of it!~~~

This is good for cough, sore throat, that nasty taste from your nose draining down your throat or when the sun is shining and birds are singing.
But seriously, it makes the cold let you sleep, rest, and be at ease.
COUGH SYRUP
1/4 c. honey
1/4 c. lemon juice
1/8 c. bourbon or brandy
Mix well honey and lemon juice. Add bourbon or brandy. _________________

tbh, the best thing to fight a cold is your own immune system - you just have to look after yourself and your body will sort it |
