Weddings

I think this topic belongs here...

I am comming to that time in my life were people around me are getting married. I've been to a couple family weddings, though usually I get to attend the ceremony and then my parents go off the the reception because it so damned expensive and they need to cut the guest list as much as possible, but this time it's my best buddie from ADFA getting married and I'm a groomsman, so I get to go through the whole pomp and prestige of it all.

I attended the engagement party on the weekend, met the brides mother for the first time, smirked at the slightly stereotypical Mother in Law being a bit overbearing, caught up with some mates, even managed to chat up one of the other guests, and it was all quite a bit of fun.

I guess I'm wondering, from those who have been through a few weddings, perhaps even your own, how it all went. Perhaps there are some unique quirks and differences between the cultures.

Its not even my wedding and its not happening until March, and yet I find that I am rather looking forward to it.
